BP schränkt Pressefreiheit ein

Am Strand von Louisiana gilt eine eingeschränkte Pressefreiheit. Ein von BP instruierter Wachdienst verbietet Reportern Interviews mit den Arbeitern, die den Strandsand untersuchen.

Das Handeln von BP steht im Widerspruch zu seinen Pressemeldungen, auf die in dem Bericht Bezug genommen wird. Angeblich gebe es keine Einschränkung der Meinungsfreiheit oder gar Maulkörbe für die von BP geheuerten Kräfte am Golf von Mexico.

BP continues to keep the market updated on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill through regular announcements. The response to this incident is our top priority.

BP faces this situation as a strong company. In March, we indicated that the company’s cash inflows and outflows were balanced at an oil price of around $60/barrel. This was before the costs of the incident.
Under the current trading environment, we are generating significant additional cash flow. In addition, our gearing is currently below the bottom of our targeted range.
